Legacy to Chaplain Buddy

Chaplain Buddy was born on September 13, 1993.  He was a ball of fur, and full of all good things, that Jesus gave to him.  He loved to run and go for walks.  When a puppy he would bring over his leash, when it was time for one of our daily walks.  Buddy LOVED life, and all that life had to offer.

When the weekends hit, there was NO time for sleeping.  He would get me up at 7 am, and by 9am we were out the door.  Each day brought new and exciting adventures.  Our weekends were never a waste.  We would do day trips.  We would take Buddy's brother Mickey and Buddy's grandma and Mickey's mom with us.

Our travels took us to Drumheller, and playing and hiking up the HooDoo's.  To Banff, stopping and having a picnic lunch at one of the many campsites.  Running and Forging some of Alberta's cool streams.  To Okotoks to walk on some of their winding paths.  Or just driving to the countryside, and walking on country roads.

Buddy enjoyed all animals, from the squirrels in our yard, to the rabbits/gerbils in pet stores.  Although he did have a few favorites.  He LOVED kitty kats.  He had playdates with them, and he was ever in his glory.!  When our Vet had kitties for adoption, we would be there every lunch hour, to play with the kitties.  Buddy never wanted to leave.  Buddy also had a few good doggy friends.  A tricolor collie named Molly, a border collie named Star, a kitty named Emily, another border collie named JJ, and the best of the best, his galpal Maywun !  They both seemed to know what each other needed.  When Buddy saw her, his ears were perked, tail wagging, and a big grin upon his face.  Love.......ahhhh

Buddy and I took the course to become PET CHAPLAINS because both of us loved animals.  We wanted to be able to do things together.  Over the course of both our lifetimes, we became as ONE.  Our spirits and souls were bounded.  When we breathed, we both breathed.  When our hearts pumped, both pumped at the same time.  We became ONE.

We became Pet Chaplains in September 2005.  We started our Ministry, and spoke and visited with many people.  We wanted people to know that there was caring and loving people and pets here to help each person, and that money was not a part of our Ministry.  Buddy was well received in Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Retirement Centers.  Buddy treated everyone the same.  He gave UNCONDITIONAL love.  And in doing so, he got it back 10 fold.

Buddy crossed over on Sept 8, 2006.  The night prior we discovered he had a mass in the abdomen.  I was in disbelief.  I automatically picked up the phone at 2am, to call a dear friend, not giving a thought that Scott would not be up, but knowing, our friendship had no boundaries.  In the morning, September 8th 2006, Buddy and I were off to get  an emergency ultrasound.  It was confirmed that Buddy had Pancreatic Cancer.  And that the mass had abcessed.

Being Buddy's mom for nearly 13 years, i knew i had to allow my baby to leave without enduring any further pain.  The decision was obviously, but how does one let go of a loved one.  Even though i knew about death and the journey, in these times, i called a friend of ours, Maywun's mom, to help me through this difficult time.  We both held Buddy and Blessed him and Prayed for his safe journey home.  He went quietly and safe.

Buddy's Heart Ministry will continue until I meet my baby in Heaven.  Buddy would want it to keep going.

I will always love you Buddy, Forever and a Day, if Not Always.....Love, Mommy xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Christmas

Buddy always enjoyed the Christmas season, as soon as the tree went up, he knew Santa would be bringing gifts.

Mickey and Buddy

Buddy and Mickey came from a litter of 3.  They were born in Rocky Mountain House.  Buddy and Mickey were inseparable, they loved to play with each, run and get dirty together.  Mickey enjoyed seeing Buddy come over to his place, so we all could go walking.  What a wonderful pair of children.

Buddy, shortly after he came to be my BOY.  He loved to go walking.  His smile would light up the cloudest night, and warm the HEARTS of everyone he would meet.

Many faces of Buddy

Buddy loved to dress up for the annual Mckenzie Towne Stamped Event.  He would put on his bandana, and off to the events.  He would walk around the booths, stop and let children pet him, and sit and relax in his favorite area.

Animals do have Spirits and..through the redemption made by our Savior they will come forth in the resurrection to enjoy the Blessings of immortal life.  Animals have SOULS.  We know that the LORD has said that not only man has a spirit, and is thereby a living soul, but likewise the beasts in the field, the fowl in the air, and the fish of the sea have spirits, and hence are Living Souls.  Animals like man are The Father's creations.
